It’s been a while. Just thought I’d recap on my life in the past year. Just because I can I’ll do it all backwards.
In March 2012, we moved to a new home:
It’s a 5 year old bungalow previously owned by a royalty who has gotten too old to maintain it himself. House looks small outside but is spacious and airy inside. Our old home has been sold to Uncle Kim Kooi. Still miss it lots.
In December 2011, I bought a car:
Haha yea, after going about it again and again, I finally got one. It’s everything I expected it to be and more.
Oh, and in November 2011, I also got myself a wife:
Times have rarely been good for me, admittedly not very convincing in light of this post, I know; but during the less-than-happy times I’m just really glad I have my family and wife 🙂
My crazy holiday timeline:
21st November – Visited Thrang, Krabi and some other places.
22nd November – Phuket & Patong.
23rd November – Phuket, Patong & some minor towns.
24th November – Phuket, Patong, & Phi Phi.
25th November – Phuket & Haadyai.
26th November – Reached home at 0300, cleaned house up and slept at 0400. Woke up and went to office at 0800. Attended Fatt’s party at 0700 and went home at 2300. Washed car till nearly 0100 of 27th.
27th November – Woke up, washed car a bit again because it farking rained and dirtied the car again last night! Had breakfast in Gunung Rapat and set off to Cameron Highlands at 0830!
Too lazy to blog in detail, so it’s random pics galore again!
The first of ten thousand easy challenges before getting to the bride: getting male lipstick marks on tissue!
Second of ten thousand easy challenges before getting to the bride: 20 *gasp* push-ups! Then came other stuff like saying “I love you” in 5 languages. Yea, that’s 5, in Malaysia. *faints*
We went up early and I washed the V23o thrice it was so damn squeaky clean because my aunt had early requested to use it as the bridal car. Then they decided the ribbons weren’t long enough and borrowed a nice Accord. I just washed the V230 three times for nothing *pening*
Kah Meng doing the cooking for the guests at home!
My niece, Snow!
Uncle Kim Kooi drove SiuDiDi, Bro, Sis, Yen & me up in the V230. Dad and Mom came up much later in the Multipla, which has crappy handling now no thanks to wheels with wrong offset.
27th of November:
Haven’t been back here in a long time (and apparently long is kinda understating it), and I’m truly shocked that the once pristine river is now so murky 😦
Yen’s very happy, because this is the first time I bought her flowers…. after she nagged me into it :p
Flowers flowers flowers!
Well this isn’t a flower :p
Yen’s flowers 🙂
My first time seeing a landslide! The soil was stil rolling off in front of me as I took this pic!
Me & Yen 🙂
On 17th November 2007, Neoh Kah Mun’s finally wedded to Ken Yap, family history was made! Evening at Sun Lee How Fook was where it’s at!
The reception, Uncle Yee printed the banner! Couldn’t be an easier job for him, having his own print shop and all. As there is another wedding dinner being held downstairs, we had to ask and usher guests upstairs, lest they make it to the wrong reception 🙂
Kah Mun & Ken making their way to the main table. The reception was very smooth as most of the guests arrived on time and we could start the course at 2000, quite good indeed 🙂
In-laws, the extended family just got larger, how cool is that? More people to chat and drink with during dinners and gatherings 🙂
Food and service at SLHF is good, way better than what I got at Overseas, Friday night when attending another wedding dinner. The seating’s a little cramped and it’s hard to get around, but everybody enjoyed the food and no complaints about bland or not-quite-fresh food was heard throughout the night 🙂 I was the photographer for the night so I had to do marvellous acrobatic stunts slipping between chairs a lot, quite good exercise for me! I think my belly might have flattened by 1mm :p
Kah Mun & Ken pouring the champagne, I got hit by a stray cork when Ken unbottled his second bottle of sparks, but at least I got good pics, whahaha, so pro, me!!!! :p
The obligatory entwined arms toast 🙂
Toast to all guests!!! YAM SENG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Asked to do a lip-lock on stage, this is how the couple spontaneously reacted:
Mu-aks!!! Can you say mischievious and perfect pair? 🙂
Mom & Uncle Yee on their second song rendition of the night! Most of Uncle Yee’s friends are avid karaoke singers, and so are the other guests too, so there wasn’t even one horrible karaoke performance during the whole night, everyone’s a good singer!!
More YAAAAAAAAAMMMM SSSSSSSEEEEEEEEENNNNNGG!!!!! moments 🙂
Aunt May Lai was so happy she couldn’t stop pouring drinks and toasting everyone!!! How could she not be happy? Her one and only precious daughter is finally getting married! Now all that’s left is for Kok Wai to bring home to her a daughter-in-law 🙂 *cough cough Kei Kei cough*
Me, Leong Yau & Kok Wai! It’s the grope!! Glad I wasn’t in the centre :p
I’m SUPERMAN!!!! You can see that the alcohol’s doing its work hehe :p
Kok Wai, Kah Mun & Me!
Ken, Kah Mun & Me, a pic with the newly-weds!
Me & Yen, Dad was actually still sober enough to hold the camera steady for me 🙂
Uncle William & Aunt May Fung who flew with Krystal & Daryl all the way back from Hong Kong, just to attend the wedding!!
Dad giving the new father-in-law a massage 🙂 It’s funny seeing them now, 20 years down the road, you’ll never believe the stories about how they didn’t get along well at first 🙂
Aunt Mee Yin, Aunt May Lai & Uncle Yun. Uncle Yun came back all the way from the US too, haven’t seen him since I was a little kid!
Me with Sis & Bro 🙂 I had to grip his neck so he couldn’t run and would sit still for this photo, heheh! Who said force & violence doesn’t solve matters? :p
Keat gor gor & Xiang jie jie with their lovely daughters. Keat gor gor is like a brother to me & my siblings, looks after us a lot, even shares the same birthday as Bro 🙂 He used to send me & cousin Chew Yee to school in a lorry everyday when I was in primary 🙂
Mom & Kok Wai 🙂
Yea, it’s camwhoring time after the guests have left, for those of you who hadn’t realised it 🙂 There’s just so much love in this family; it’s not always you can see the younger ones and elders mix so well, like they’re all friends, yet it’s all here, all the time, say BAH to generation gaps!!
Kah Mun & Yen 🙂
One of the last pics I took for the night before giving my camera some rest. It’s been a long, fulfilling and happy night! Everything went smoothly and everybody went home with smiles on their face. Beautiful night.
sI said earlier that there are wedding’s lined up for nearly every other day of the week this month, and today’s the wedding of my dear cousin Kah Mun!
My dashing cousin brother-in-law Ken! He’s a nice, tall and shy guy! Sorry he had to make his first appearance here in pampers hehe, but it’s either he do that or he’ll not get to enter the house :p
Ken slipping the “I’m-married-so-you-have-no-chance!” symbol to other men, aka, The Ring, on Kah Mun, finally tying the knot after 3-4 years of dating 🙂
They make a perfect couple eh?
Ken & Kah Mun getting their wedding gifts from Uncle Yee & Aunt May Lai.
Kok Wai serving his sis and brother-in-law tea while Kei Kei, his girlfriend looks on.
Even larger family pic!!! Haha, this is not everybody, quite far from it, actually :p
Sis & bro with their significant others. Can you say suh-weeet?
Leaving for the journey to hubby’s home…
After the wedding party left for Ken’s home, we cleared the place and had lunch.
Sis, Kystal, Daryl & Dawin.
Kok Wai slipping into something more comfortable (sandals!!) after the party’s left, he’d completely changed back to singlet and shorts by the time I left!
